Children/ Youthwork

Our mission statement:

Working alongside parents we endeavour to nurture the young people through fun, relevant Bible teaching and discipleship. Our aim is that each young person will, in God's time, believe in Jesus Christ and become a fully active member of God's church.

Our work

We run a number of different classes for babies up to young people around 15 years old. We aim for our teaching and nurture to be appropriate to the age of the children we have, to show and model a living faith in Jesus through studying the Bible and a mix of activities. We currently have a creche, a pre-school group, two primary-aged groups and a group for teenagers.

Normally the children will worship with the adults for the first 15 minutes of the morning service and then leave for their own groups.

Our teenagers also meet up regularly on Friday evenings, either to go to Power Point (a massive youth event in Edinburgh) or to meet socially and do other fun stuff.

Our ethos

We use our time with the children and young people to teach them about God, the necessity of faith in Jesus Christ and the importance of the Bible in our lives.

We aim to show the love of God through our relationships with the children. Our teachers are not just teaching the children about faith but living examples of it.

Child Protection

We do all that we can to ensure the safety of the children and young people we work with. All of our leaders are checked with Disclosure Scotland/ PVG. Here you can download a copy of our policies on how we work.
